Hunterdon County 579 Trail Sign

Say hello to the cows and llamas of Hunterdon County. Thanks to a new initiative, the work of the farmers, winemakers, and culinary artisans along and near scenic County Road 579 is being celebrated and promoted.

The new marketing initiative, operating under the name Hunterdon 579 Trail, is funded by the county’s Office of Economic Development, which is inviting county residents—and others throughout the state and region—to rediscover what’s in their own back yard. The idea, says Economic Development Director Marc Sulak, came from the farmers, winemakers, and artisans themselves, and offers a way to connect the dots among all those who continue to honor the county’s agricultural roots.
