Amid the throes of the pandemic, one of the state’s most respected farms marked a new beginning when Jennifer and Ryan LaMonaca purchased B&B Farms from lifelong farmers Art and Carolyn Brown.

Art Brown is well known, having served as New Jersey’s Secretary of Agriculture from 1982 until 2001. His many contributions include establishing the Jersey Fresh marketing program and the Farmland Preservation program. Jennifer LaMonaca, who has a degree in marine science from Stockton University and worked in the fisheries industry, has been farming with the Browns, her husband’s aunt and uncle, for 10 years. The farm offers a CSA, on-farm market and events as well as pick-your-own programs.

“B&B Farms was built by farmers, and it will continue to be owned and operated as such, by the next generation of farmers,” says Jennifer.
