Beverage and Food Employee Crisis Support Fund

New Jersey’s restaurant industry has been devastated by the Covid-19 crisis. Our state is home to more than 19,000 eating and drinking establishments which, pre-Covid-19, employed 350,000 people, approximately 8% of NJ’s workforce. Tens of thousands of jobs have been lost across the industry.

While restaurants innovate to find a way forward with concepts such as home delivery and curbside pickup, laid-off workers struggle to make ends meet. Many individual restaurants and hospitality groups have set up GoFundMe initiatives, but the need is daunting. The New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association has established the Beverage and Food Employee Crisis Support Fund to help laid-off restaurant employees across the state. We encourage you to contribute and to check in with your favorite local eateries to determine how you can best help.
