Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton are well known for Canal House Cooking, their award-winning series of seasonal cookbooks. This September brings the release of their new hardcover opus, Cook Something.

In today’s busy but food-obsessed world, home cooking can often feel intimidating, laborious, and overwhelming. With that in mind, the culinary maestras set out to create a book that offers a “crash course in no-fuss cooking for every occasion.” Featuring more than 300 recipes, Cook Something aims to enhance the pleasures of home cooking by helping the reader to cook more confidently. Beautifully written and photographed in true Canal House fashion, the focus is on single everyday ingredients and step-by-step technique, carrying the reader from the simple (how to boil an egg) to the sublime (a towering souffle).

And speaking of busy lives, Hirsheimer and Hamilton recently debuted another new venture. This July, they opened Canal House Station, a restaurant and cafe in Milford.
