In 2016, more than 6,000 people headed to Long Beach Island’s Hop Sauce Festival for food, brews, and some of the best hot sauce around. The event, organized by Jetty Clothing, Spice it Up and Shore Point Distributing, is in its fourth year and will run from 11am-7pm on June 3 at Beach Haven’s Taylor Avenue Waterfront.

Hop Sauce Festival is all about getting the community together for a fun day of craft beers and hot sauces, hanging out with friends…and raising some money to help the community,” says Jetty Clothing co-founder Cory Higgins.

A portion of the Hop Sauce Festival proceeds go to the Jetty Rock Foundation, a nonprofit formed in response to Jetty's Hurricane Sandy relief efforts that's dedicated to improving the community.

The all-day festival features samples of more than 30 craft beers from New Jersey and all over the United States as well as food from some of Long Beach Island’s best restaurants. The main attraction, however, is the hot sauce.

“All of the food vendors are local LBI places, and the majority of the hot sauces are from the tri-state area,” Higgins says. According to Hop Sauce Festival’s website, nearly half of the 20 hot sauce companies are based right here in New Jersey.

The event will also feature multiple musical acts and the early morning Tune Up Paddle Race run by South-End Surf 'N Paddle; proceeds from the race will benefit Jetty Rock Foundation as well as Alliance for a Living Ocean.

Tickets to the event range from $20-$150 and can be purchased on the festival’s website.
