Day of the Dead Celebration
Join the Riverview Farmers Market for their iconic Day of the Dead Celebration to honor lost loved ones and the authentic traditions that are part of this Mexican holiday. Local Mexican-American artist Santiago Cohen is the visionary artist behind the giant skeleton puppet parade (12pm) and is joined by traditional Mexican dance group Sueño Americano and Mariachi Oro de Mexico. A community Ofrenda (altar) will be built in the gazebo and will be available from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. The community is encouraged to bring photos or offerings to lost loved ones to contribute to the Ofrenda.
The event will feature free family entertainment, face painting sponsored by Rudo Plants & Home, juggling, live music, a lineup of more than 30+ vendors, and more!
The Riverview Neighborhood Association will also be hosting their annual Pet Costume Contest during the celebration. Judging begins at 1pm. Please arrive early to register.

10/20-11/3: Ichiban To Go is featuring a Day of the Dead roll! A portion of proceeds will benefit the Riverview Farmers Market.
10/25-11/3: Lil' Dove Cafe will be serving Mexican Coffee and Fox & Crow will have an exclusive Day of the Dead Margarita available.
10/27: Sure Things + BabaBoogs is hosting a candle pop up and painting party from 10am-5pm. Walk in only. Adult and kid friendly.
10/27-11/3: Modcup is featuring an exclusive Day of the Dead dark roast and will donate a portion of proceeds to the Riverview Farmers Market.
10/27-while supplies last: The Lucky Honeybee is offering limited edition Sugar Skull Candles. A portion of proceeds go to charity.
10/28-11/3: Meow Mini Mart will have exclusive Day of the Dead cat cookies for sale with 100% of proceeds benefiting local TNR and cat rescue organization JC Cat Watch.
10/30-11/3: Choc O Pain Bakery will be offering limited quantities of Day of the Dead-stenciled Bordelais and chocolate cakes.
11/1 6-8pm: Riverview Wine & Spirits is offering a free tequila tasting.
11/1 at 7pm and 11/2 at 8pm: Sol Spirit Yoga & Wellness is hosting a Rest in Peace Savasana: 60-min candlelight meditation and sound bath. $25 drop in.
11/3: The Cliff is hosting a special scavenger hunt from 8am-3pm. Check their Instagram @thecliffjc for details that day.
11/3: Busy Bee Organics is hosting Day of the Dead-themed pumpkin painting at their shop from 9:30-11:30am. Suggested donation of $10 and proceeds will benefit a local charity.
