“We’re committed to developing New Jersey’s agri-tourism industry by bringing people together to learn firsthand how their spirits are produced.” —Zack Ohebshalom, Co-Owner

As chief alchemist at Asbury Park’s first distillery since Prohibition, Bill Tambussi earned a master’s degree in distilling from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, one of the most well-respected distilling programs in the world. He brings a practiced hand that, inside two years of opening, has brought home medals from both American Distilling Institute (silver, barrel-finished gin; silver, vodka; bronze, gin) and San Francisco World Spirits Competition (silver, vodka; silver, gin; silver, double-barrel bourbon, bronze, barrelfinished gin). Plus, Asbury Park Distilling was awarded Edible Jersey’s 2019 Local Hero Beverage Artisan.

Cocktails here are made with spirits distilled in-house and from scratch and, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting local growers, include as many local and seasonal ingredients as possible. All alcohol, bitters, tonics, tinctures and syrups, as well as other accompaniments, are concocted by the talented and innovative bar staff.

Consistency, quality and value are foremost in APD’s focus. The distillery recently released 375ml bottles of their lineup for distribution beyond Asbury Park, as well as a tasting-room-only Toasted Gin, Amaro and Aquavit.
