In Season: Strawberries
You can smell them before you see them.
Hull, clean, and coarsely chop 1 pound (approximately 1 pint) of strawberries. In medium saucepan, combine strawberries with ⅓ cup sugar and 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat and continue to boil for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let cool (sauce will continue to thicken).
