A Farmer’s Life: Notes from Terhune Orchards.

For 35 years, Gary Mount has been profiling life on his family’s farm, Terhune Orchards, through the farm’s quarterly newsletter. Now, Mount has taken the step of compiling those stories in one place with his new book, A Farmer’s Life: Notes from Terhune Orchards.

“The articles have ranged from all over the place,” Mount says of his stories. “My boyhood reminiscence to growing up on the farm to the latest technology and growing fruit.” Mount credits one of his college friends, as well as his grandchildren, for pushing him to finally publish the book.

“For me to write this down in some place that [my grandchildren] will be able to look at it was really important,” he says. Mount’s book is available for purchase at the farm market and on terhuneorchards.com.
