Since 1964, the Cape May–Lewes Ferry has transported passengers across the Delaware Bay. Now, Jack Wright of Cape May’s Exit Zero Hospitality is launching Ferry Park—and turning a terminal into a destination.

“It felt so exciting that we had the opportunity to have a blank slate with an incredible waterfront location,” Wright says of his decision to take on the project. “That opportunity doesn’t come along very often.”

The new Ferry Park features three just-opened restaurants: The Lookout on the terminal’s second floor offers dinner and drinks with a view. Guests can also visit Boat Drinks for a raw bar and cocktails with an island vibe. And Exit Zero Ferry Station is “the waterfront sibling” of Cape May’s Exit Zero Filling Station. The Park offers Café 64, too, for a quick bite or a morning coffee.

“We want Ferry Park to be a lot of things,” says Wright. “We want it to be a place where you can come and get a great meal. We want people to come and play in the park.”

Wright is also organizing art shows and summer concerts for 2022. A small shopping village, plus outdoor games and activities, will be added in 2023.
