This Floss is Boss: The Asbury Park Cotton Candy Company
Billie Rama, owner of The Asbury Park Cotton Candy Company, has reimagined the typical festival treat and it’s earned high praise: her version of cotton candy, spun with plant-based colors and all-natural flavors, has been described as “the cashmere of cotton candy.” This 100% USDA certified organic, kosher, vegan, non-GMO cane sugar confection has been wowing customers since 2018 and really hit its stride in 2021. Catchy flavor names like “If You Like Pina Colada” and “Root Beer Float Yer Boat” just add to the fun.
The confection is made fresh to order at the company’s production space in Asbury Park. Sweet-toothed customers can order online or via email and pick up or have it shipped anywhere across the US. Even more exciting this time of year? Buying it directly at farmers’ markets like Asbury Fresh (Asbury and Grand Aves.) and Bradley Beach Main Street Market.
Refreshing new flavors on their summer menu lineup include “Perfectly Peachy,” “Wassup Watermelon,” and “Cucumber Lime...So Sublime.” Try the latter as is or at The Mainstay Bar & Grill in Asbury Park: they use it as a playful ingredient in a cocktail (“Boyfriend Material”).
More bars and restaurants will be adding the cotton candy to their menus this summer.
