Combine botanical, all-natural blends plus a commitment to sustainability—minus alcohol—and you’re sipping Seraphim Social Beverage. Vegan and gluten-free certifications are the garnishes on this drink.

“I wanted an experience of wine, of a treat at the end of the day,” without drinking alcohol, says Founder/CEO Stephanie Bricken. “I have a master’s in holistic health and wanted to create something that was really good and complex and good for you.” The premium wine alternative is currently available in two blends: Cacao (flavor of ripe berries and dark chocolate) and Cassia (flavor of tart berries with hints of cinnamon and spice).

In 2023, Seraphim won the Specialty Food Association’s SOFI award for Best New Product in the Alcoholic Beverages and Cocktail Mix category. The beverage is made with mostly organic and fair-trade ingredients and includes herbal extracts from New Jersey purveyor Herbalist & Alchemist. It can be enjoyed as a mocktail or in a spritzer, as well as a wine alternative.

Produced at Rutgers Innovation Food Center in Bridgeton, Seraphim is available on their own website (below) and at an increasing number of retail locations across the U.S. and statewide, including the Red Bank Farmers market, from 9am to 2pm every Sunday through November.
