Silk City Distillers and Ghost Hawk Brewing Company have come together to form New Jersey’s newest craft drinks destination. Located steps apart from each other in Clifton, the two companies represent a unique opportunity to enjoy some of New Jersey’s best beer and spirits in one location.
Ghost Hawk Brewing Company is a collaborative effort between two Clifton natives: U.S. Army veteran Tom Rachelski and graphic designer Steve Bauer. With the help of a silent partner and the addition of award-winning, veteran brewmaster Chris Sheehan, this venture took two years to fully bring to life. The project was born from Rachelski and Bauer’s passion for delicious beer and a desire to escape the mundane routines of everyday life. Brewmaster Sheehan, who has been brewing beer since 1986, has won nine Great American Beer Festival medals and excitedly took his talents to Ghost Hawk.
Silk City Distillers was founded on a shared love for American whiskies. Brothers James and John Bednar, along with longtime friend Tim Paul, worked together to create a distillery that pushed the limits of traditional whiskey styles. Silk City utilizes novel techniques, unique grains, and quality, while still respecting its heritage. The distillery prides itself on using highquality, locally sourced corn, rye, and barley to create the best flavors possible by staying true to the complete distillation process.
Silk City and Ghost Hawk have already begun to collaborate on crossover products, showcasing the best of what each has to offer. Ghost Hawk recently released Along For the Rye, a Rye IPA aged in a Silk City Rye whiskey barrel. A malt whiskey distilled from Ghost Hawk’s Ravendark Stout is currently in the works. Ghost Hawk and Silk City are located just across from Rutt’s Hut, an iconic landmark voted the best hot dog in the United States.

Straight Rye Whiskey
750ml, 90 Proof Silk City’s Rye is crafted from 100% Jersey-grown rye, and no other grain in the mash bill. Aroma of honey; palate of dark fruit and baking spice.

Apex Predator—Neipa, 6.8% ABV, 46 IBU
At the top of the food chain, this New England-style IPA will sink its talons into your palate with loads of fruity character derived from El Dorado, Mosaic, Equanot and Citra hops.
Cherry Daedalion—Wheat, 4% ABV, 12 IBU
The addition of Michigangrown Montmorency tart cherries to their “crushable” wheat ale transforms it into a crisp and fruity delight.
