Thai Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Thai Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Course Appetizer, Main Course

Ingredients
  

  • 1–2 tablespoons canola oil for pan
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger (fresh or jarred)
  • pounds ground turkey
  • ¼ cup + 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • tablespoons rice vinegar
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Lettuce leaves (butter or romaine)
  • Lime wedges, cilantro and red pepper flakes for serving

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a large pan. Sauté onion and garlic until tender, about 5 minutes, then add ginger.
  • Add turkey and cook until browned and no longer pink. Add hoisin and soy sauce and rice vinegar. Cook on low for about 5 minutes, until thickened. Add lime zest and stir to combine.
  • Serve in lettuce leaves, topping with lime juice from wedges, cilantro, and red pepper flakes as desired.
