Strawberry Sauce

We love strawberries simply whole or sliced, but this recipe is a popular topper on everything from ice cream to meats.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (approximately 1 pint) strawberries
  • â…“ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

Instructions

  • Hull, clean, and coarsely chop 1 pound (approximately 1 pint) of strawberries. In medium saucepan, combine strawberries with â…“ cup sugar and 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat and continue to boil for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let cool (sauce will continue to thicken).
