
Comet Cocktail
Adapted from original recipe published in Perth Amboy Evening News, May 17, 1910. This cocktail, featuring French vermouth and created in honor of the arrival of Halley’s Comet, was considered “the rage on Broadway.”
Ingredients
- 2 ounces applejack
- 1 ounce Dolin Rouge Vermouth
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Cocktail cherry, for garnish
Instructions
- Add applejack, vermouth, and bitters into an ice-filled mixing glass, and stir until chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a cocktail cherry.
