Cocktails with Carla
Join Carla Camerieri, Cocktail Consultant at Recklesstown Farm Distillery, as she shares our cocktail philosophy and the techniques you need to make exceptional cocktails at home.
The online LIVE course (held on ZOOM) will be divided into three classes, to be held on January 12th, January 19th and January 26th. Your $30 fee covers your entry to all three classes. You will learn a technique in each class, and apply it while making a cocktail at the end of the class. Class size is limited so that you can get personal feedback from Carla.
Class 1 topics covered - cocktail philosophy, short shaking techniques, and using a single strain. Cocktail: Boozy Lemonade
Class 2 topics covered - creating a standard cocktail, stirring techniques. We will learn how to make a drink that’s built in the glass. Cocktail: Mule
Class 3 topics covered - role of bitters in cocktails, creating an "up" drink, using a long shake and double strain. Cocktail: Southside
Because it is a hands-on course, you will need some supplies to use for creating your cocktails. Please find the supply list below. These items can be purchased as a kit from us, or you can get them on your own) Kit cost is $30 and includes the following:
Shaker Tin 15 oz
Shaker Tin 30 oz
Hawthorne Strainer
Jigger (1 oz and .5 oz)
Mixing Spoon
Basket Strainer
**Optional add on- two cocktail glasses
Once you have registered for the class, we will email you to find out if you would like to order the supply kit from us, or if you will get the items separately.
You will also need to purchase ingredients for your cocktails, as well as some grocery items. Full grocery list will be sent to you upon registration.
