The Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ), the area’s largest emergency food provider, is hosting its annual Turkey Drop on Saturday, November 18 at their Pennsauken-based headquarters inviting residents and local businesses to drop off frozen turkeys and traditional, non-perishable Thanksgiving food to support local families in need.

FBSJ works all year long to service the nearly 200,000 South Jersey residents who struggle with food insecurity, but during the holiday season that need is especially great as working families already struggling with putting an adequate meal on the table are forced to forgo a holiday celebration so that they can save elsewhere. FBSJ relies on the support of community members and donors to adequately service their neighbors in need.

The Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) is the leader in providing safe and nutritional food to people in need throughout South Jersey. FBSJ distributes food, provides nutrition education and cooking courses, and helps food-insecure families and seniors find sustainable ways to improve their lives. In 2016, FBSJ provided over 11 million pounds of food to approximately 200,000 South Jersey residents. Providing community impact through local support, FBSJ ensures that local donations stay local. FBSJ is a member of Feeding America, our nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. To learn more visit www.foodbanksj.org.
